Maniac shoves innocent straphanger onto NYC subway tracks: cops

A stranger shoved an innocent Manhattan straphanger onto the tracks late Monday – but the victim was rescued by good Samaritans, cops said. 

The 25-year-old man was standing on the No. 6 subway platform at 14th Street-Union Square around 9:30 p.m. when a man wearing all black suddenly pushed him onto the roadbed, authorities said. 

No train was entering the station at the time, cops said. 

Good Samaritans helped the man back up onto the platform, police said. 

He suffered only minor lacerations to his head and hands, and was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment, cops said. 

Cops say the suspect, who had a dark complexion and appeared to be in his 20s and around 5-foot-7, fled after the attack.
