18-year-old arrested for shooting Bronx man

Police have arrested an 18-year-old who they say shot and killed a man at a Bronx apartment building last week.

Neville Pinkston was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of Randall Timber on January 24, police said.

Pinkston and Timber, 25, had an argument in an apartment on Washington Avenue near E. 169th Street inside the Morrisania houses around 10:55 p.m., according to police.

According to them, the young man shot Timber in the head.

Pinkston allegedly drove off, leaving the badly injured man in the apartment. Neighbors had previously told the Daily News that it was a hotbed of violence.

Timber died at the scene.

Police believe the victim visited the apartment and lived in the Van Nest neighborhood of the Bronx.

According to police, Pinkston lives in Croton, more than a mile from where he shot Timber.

Police said he has eight arrests in the city, including for assault, burglary and multiple robberies.

His indictment in the Bronx Criminal Court was expected late Sunday night.
