Yesenia Ramirez and Jose Portillo have been convicted of kidnapping “Baby Brandon” in San Jose, the Santa Clara County District Attorney said.

SAN JOSE, CA (KGO) — A couple convicted of kidnapping a three-month-old baby in San Jose last year were sentenced Monday in Santa Clara County.

Suspect Yesenia Ramirez was sentenced to 13 years and four months in prison, the Santa Clara County District Attorney said. The fate of Jose Portillo was also revealed. He will serve five years in prison.

Baby Brandon Cuellar was taken from his home in April 2022 while his grandmother was unloading her car. He was found unharmed 24 hours later.

The suspects Yesenia Ramirez and José Portillo were arrested and did not dispute the charges.

The charges they found guilty include conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping, burglary, four attempted kidnappings, and a misdemeanor for breaking into a car.
