Wrong driver crash kills 4 in Chino Hills
Chino Hills, California. Four people died in an out-of-control crash in Chino Hills early Sunday morning, authorities said.

CHP received several 911 calls about a driver driving the wrong way northbound in the southbound lanes on Interstate 71 on Central Avenue around 2:30 AM.
Additional 911 calls were received about a traffic accident involving 4 to 5 vehicles, with one car on fire and people trapped inside on South 71 Freeway at Chino Hills Parkway.
An SGT from California Highway Patrol station Rancho Cucamonga was the first to arrive on the scene and attempted to put out the fire and rescue passengers inside the vehicle. The SGT was unable to reach the people inside the burning vehicle due to the vehicle being completely engulfed.

The Chino Valley Fire Department arrived at the scene and was able to put out the car’s fire.
In total, firefighters and doctors declared the death of four people at the scene. One person was taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
Their identities are not released until the next of kin are notified.
