Woman, 22, killed by suspected drunk driver in Pacific Beach

A 22-year-old woman died and a 24-year-old man was hospitalized when a 22-year-old man in a Toyota Tacoma, suspected of driving under the influence, hit them on a Crown Point sidewalk Sunday.

The unnamed driver of the Toyota was arrested on suspicion of murder and manslaughter while intoxicated, the sergeant said. Jeff Leis of the San Diego Police Department.

The accident occurred at 1:28 am Sunday at 3400 Riviera Drive when the two victims parked their Chevrolet Tahoe at the side of the street and stood on the sidewalk. According to the sergeant, the Tacoma jumped onto the pavement and crashed into the couple and their car.

The woman died, and the man, trapped under Tacoma, was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition. Their names are not immediately released.

The traffic police responded to the incident, who are investigating the collision. Anyone with information related to the above incidents is advised to call the traffic department who investigated the collision or the Crime Squad at 888-580-8477.
