VIDEO: Girl, 12, dragged down Queens sidewalk by chain snatchers on scooter

A 12-year-old girl walking home from school was dragged down a Queens sidewalk by a mugger on a scooter who grabbed her chain, startling video released by the NYPD Monday shows.

The duo are being sought for seven recent chain snatching robberies, four of them in one day. Cops are asking the public’s help identifying them and tracking them down.

The girl, the first victim in the pattern, was walking on Layton St. in Elmhurst when the muggers rode up together on a scooter as she neared near Britton St. about 4:35 p.m. Oct. 24 , cops said.

The man riding on the back of the scooter grabbed her necklace and they rode by, police said. The victim fell to the sidewalk as the scooter continued down the sidewalk and the crook held on to her chain, dragging her down the block.

The scooter eventually toppled over as the crook and victim struggled. The scooter passenger, now on his feet, wrenched the necklace from her neck, breaking the chain, the video shows. The scooter operator then rode off with the passenger running alongside him.

The same duo struck again two days later at 2:20 p.m. in Jackson Heights, punching a 37-year-old woman in the face at 34th Ave. Ave. and 103rd St. in Corona, cops said. They tried unsuccessfully to steal her chain.

But just 10 minutes later they snatched two chains from a 43-year-old woman a mile-and-a-half away at 31st Ave. and 76th St. in Jackson Heights.

At 7 p.m. the same day, they victimized a 52-year-old man in Elmhurst, snatching his chain as he walked on 75th St. near Woodside Ave., police said.

The attackers ended their spree that day a half-mile north, targeting a 35-year-old woman on 73rd St. near 35th Ave. in Jackson Heights, police said. They stole her chain and drove off at 8:50 p.m.

The next day, at 3 p.m., they robbed a 70-year-old woman a few blocks away, snatching her chain on 77th St. near 35th Ave., police said.

The last victim, a 48-year-old woman, was robbed of her necklace at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 7 at Penrod St. and Otis Ave. in Corona.

None of the victims needed medical attention.
