UW Medicine partners with digital healthcare platform to treat type 2 diabetes remotely with AI

Seattle-based UW Medicine is teaming up with Delve Health’s digital platform to improve type 2 diabetes patient care through remote monitoring and artificial intelligence.

According to a Feb. 22 press release, the project, funded by the NIH’s Bridge2AI program, will continuously collect data from smartwatches, including heart rate, oxygen levels, and activity levels, through the Delve Health app, combined with glucose monitoring.

The study aims to study a diverse group of more than 4,000 people in the US to develop unbiased machine learning models for treating patients with type 2 diabetes.
