LOS ANGELES — Authorities said one person was taken to hospital with injuries following an explosion that hit the campus of the University of Southern California on Thursday afternoon.
It happened at 4:00 pm in a three-story science building at 923 Bloom Walk. This was reported by the fire department of Los Angeles. One person, who has not been identified, was hospitalized in an unknown condition.
Firefighters evacuated everyone from the building. Crews checked every floor in the building and found no hazards or leaks, investigators said. They said that all air readings (taken with a manual gas meter) were normal.
No other injuries were reported. Both buildings have since been reopened.
