Upstate New York law enforcement officer threatened to shoot man with gun, soldiers say

Teresa, New York. A Jefferson County police officer was charged Thursday with threatening with a firearm, the military said.

Terry L. McKeever, who worked in the city of Teresa, drew a gun while trying to serve documents, state police spokesman Jack Keller said.

McKeever, 68, of Philadelphia, New York, had problems with the man, Keller said.

In court documents, a state trooper said McKeever threatened to shoot an unarmed man.

McKeever was charged with endangerment in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, according to Keller.

He is due to appear in Jefferson County CAP Court on Feb. 24.
