Two students shot dead, suspect arrested at Lamar High School; Campus remains on lockdown, police confirm
According to Arlington ISD, Lamar High School is closed due to a shooting on campus.
The district says the shooting took place outside a school building where two students were injured and receiving medical treatment.
The suspect in the shooting has been arrested, officials said. There was no information immediately available on what led to this incident, but nearby schools appear to have been unaffected.
The APD says the scene is safe and the suspected shooter is in custody, but the campus remains on lockdown.
AISD urges parents, students, and community members to stay away from campus while the APD investigates.
Once the lockdown is lifted, all students and staff in the building will be sent home for the rest of the day.
