Trevor Noah coming to Upstate NY on comedy tour after ‘The Daily Show’ exit

Trevor Noah is coming to Upstate New York on his first comedy tour after his upcoming exit from “The Daily Show.”

The comedian will perform at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady on May 19, 2023, as part of his Off the Record tour dates. The show will begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. through proctors.org. Prices start at $44.50; additional fees may apply.

Noah is an Emmy-winning comedian, author and TV host from South Africa who took over hosting Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” from Jon Stewart in 2015. Noah, who’s also hosted the Grammy Awards and the 2022 White House Correspondents Dinner, announced in September that he’ll be leaving “The Daily Show” on Dec. 8; a replacement has not been announced.

“I spent two years [of the pandemic] in my apartment, not on the road, and when I got back out there again, I realized that there’s another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring,” Noah recently said. “I miss learning other languages, I miss going to other countries and putting on shows, I miss being everywhere and doing everything.”

Noah, who performed in Syracuse and Buffalo earlier this year, will also soon release a new standup comedy special, “I Wish You Would,” Nov. 22 on Netflix.
