The Montgomery Sheriff’s Office hands over seized stolen property to a local women’s center.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas “The Montgomery Sheriff’s Office spread goodwill by donating stolen and confiscated items to women in need.

According to the report, detectives were investigating a multifaceted case involving major thefts from multiple stores in November 2022.

Investigators partnered with HEB Asset Protection, Kroger’s Organized Crime Group and Home Depot Asset Protection to arrest and charge Alexis Garcia and Deangelo Garcia with the theft.

Authorities believe the two suspects were involved in dozens of burglaries and robberies in which a large amount of detergent was stolen.

It was ordered that the seized evidence be returned to its rightful owner or destroyed if the owner’s identity could not be established.

Sheriff Rand Henderson admitted that it would be a sin to destroy healthy cleaning supplies, so he petitioned the Montgomery County Court of Commissioners to sign an order and resolution authorizing donations to go to the Montgomery County Women’s Center.

It was approved by unanimous vote.

The Women’s Center, located in Montgomery County, offers a full range of services to victims of domestic violence, including temporary shelter.

“These materials will go a long way in helping these women who are courageously embarking on a journey of healing,” the post reads.
