The feds and NYPD have arrested two members of a NYC robbery gang who kidnapped and robbed an Uber driver in Queens.

Authorities said Friday that two Queens robber gang members were arrested on federal robbery charges in connection with the kidnapping and beating of an Uber driver in October.

Sam Carrasco, 20, of Kearny, New Jersey, and Jeffrey Tavarez, 23, of the Bronx, were charged in federal court in Brooklyn.

Carrasco, also known as “Sika” and “Sicario”, and Tavares have been identified as members of the “Carrasco Squad,” the group responsible for several armed robberies and carjackings in Queens from October 2022 to March 2023, court records say.

Around 6 a.m. on October 22, two suspects and a third man who was an accomplice approached a 42-year-old Uber driver sitting in his car near 35th Avenue and 146th Street in Murray Hill, Queens.

They banged on his windows with weapons before ordering him out of the car, court records say.

The scammers put a black bag over the man’s head and tied his hands before snatching his keys, wallet and green Apple iPhone Pro Max. Then one of the robbers allegedly asked: “Where is the money?”

Holding a gun to his head, the Uber driver told them he had cash at home and gave them his address.

Shortly after, one of the scammers called the others via Facetime from the victim’s home. They then forced the victim to direct him to the money. He pointed him to his son’s bedroom, where they found and stole $20,000.

Finally, satisfied with the delivery of money and goods, they left and abandoned the victim at a random location in Wantague, Louisiana.

“We will kill you and your family,” one swindler said, ordering the man not to call the police.

NYPD officers grabbed Carrasco and Tavarez on Dec. 27 in Queens after they stopped them in a stolen Cherokee Jeep, authorities said. Investigators later linked the pair to the October 24 robbery and other similar robberies.
