The Beas Knees: Buffalo Bills elevate Cole Beasley for Dolphins game

That didn’t take long.

On Saturday afternoon, the Buffalo Bills announced that Cole Beasley would be elevated for tonight’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Beasley, 33, was signed to Buffalo’s practice squad on Tuesday. This may seem like a quick turnaround to get Beasley on the field, but considering his knowledge of the team’s offense and Buffalo’s need for wide receiver production it makes sense to get the veteran onto the field sooner rather than later.

For Beasley, Saturday night will be his first chance at writing a new ending with the team. The veteran told the media earlier in the week that ending things the right way with Buffalo was very important to him.

“I didn’t like the way things ended here,” Beasley said on Wednesday. “I told (Beane) that and when I first got here, me and my family fell in love with this place. So just wanted to get back (here) and end it off right.”

In his first game back with the Bills, Beasley will look to help Buffalo defeat the Miami Dolphins in a snowy Highmark Stadium. It’s unknown how many snaps Beasley will see, but look for him to see the field a lot in third down situations. Beasley was a safety valve of sorts for Josh Allen during his first stint in Buffalo and could be looked at to help the Bills’ offense move the chains on third down.

In his first stint with the Bills, Beasley was dominant in the slot. He recorded 231 receptions for 2,438 yards and 11 touchdowns during his three seasons with the team and was named an All-Pro in 2020 after hauling in 82 receptions for 967 yards and four touchdowns.
