The arrest was made in connection with the bombing of the San Francisco home Outer Sunset; police report details backstory, drugs found in wreckage

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — According to law enforcement agencies, detainees were detained in the case of a house explosion that occurred yesterday in the Outer Sunset area in San Francisco.

Darren Price, a 53-year-old resident, was charged with manslaughter, drug manufacturing and two counts of endangering children.

Neighbors continued to clean their homes Friday night after the deadly explosion.

“The amount of glass in the house was incredible. We have collected two glass trash cans and are still collecting glass,” said Jack Noriega.

But while the residents are collecting their lives piece by piece, the investigators find out what really happened here.

A partial police report obtained by ABC7 newscaster Dion Lim sheds light on what we know so far.

According to the statement of the victim, the couple was in the house along with two children who were at school at that time.

The woman was disabled and was often assisted by a caretaker who was washing clothes in the basement when the explosion occurred.

The report states that the caretaker was able to survive, although she suffered serious injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.

Where the man was at the time of the incident and where the children are now is unknown.

The woman is believed to have died.

“She didn’t have legs. Her hands were raised like this. The body was completely charred,” Noriega said.

Those who live nearby describe the couple as very secretive and almost exclusively to themselves.

The incident report also outlined the authorities’ conversations with neighbors.

One said he smelled marijuana coming from the house and remembered the man hanging a plastic tarp over one of the couple’s doors.

The report also states that drugs were found in the house, as well as wiring and some unknown substance.

On Friday morning, the ABC7 News team noticed that the authorities were removing canisters from what was left of the house.

We later learned that these canisters were connected to the BART station in Daly City, which was offline for several hours during the day after one of the canisters began to leak.

“One of the items being transported began to hiss. The driver of the car pulled over and called 911,” Captain Jonathan Baxter of the San Francisco Fire Department said.
