Texas man accused of stalking a woman and then killing her and her husband before pulling a gun on himself

The Redmond police chief said the woman reported more than 100 contacts in one day and said her stalker sent gifts and showed up at her home.

REDMOND, Washington. A Texas man is accused of stalking a woman and then killing her and her husband before pointing a gun at himself during a home invasion in Washington state on Friday morning.

“This is the worst possible outcome of a stalking case,” said Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe. “This is the worst nightmare of every victim, every detective, every police chief.”

It happened around 1:45 a.m. at a house on 89th and 169th streets in Redmond, northeast of the Seattle metro.

Chief Low said his officers were called home in response to the gunshots. When they got there, they were met by a neighbor and the mother of one of the victims, who identified the house where the shots had come from.

As the police headed for the front door, Chief Lowe said the woman’s husband was at the door. They tried to contact him, but he passed out and stopped responding, Lowe said.

The police moved him away from the threshold and noticed that he had been shot in the chest. Paramedics began to treat him, but he soon died from his injuries, Lowe said.

The police knew there were other victims in the house, so they launched a search and found the woman and her alleged stalker shot to death in the master bedroom. Lowe said the alleged stalker died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Lowe said his department knew the woman and the alleged stalker because they had been investigating a stalking case between them since last year.

Lowe said the woman first called the police in December 2022 because of the man’s actions towards her. Then in mid-January, she called the police again because his performance began to deteriorate. Lowe said the woman reported more than 100 contacts in one day and said her stalker sent gifts and showed up at her home.

The woman filed a protection order against the man, but Lowe said the police were unable to service him because they did not know where he was.

“It was difficult to locate it,” Lowe said.

The woman and man reportedly met on a podcast app called Clubhouse.

The identity of the woman and her husband has not been established. The only information provided by the police about the alleged stalker is that he was a truck driver from Texas.
