Ted Lasso, which debuted its third season on Apple TV+ Wednesday, has been praised for its upbeat approach to kindness and determination, with the show’s signature slogan “Believe” inspiring viewers across the country.

Against the background of the release of the third season of the series, there were rumors that the series was coming to an end, although spin-offs were not excluded. For Brett Goldstein, who writes for the series and also plays football legend-turned-assistant coach Roy Kent, the prospect of a third season being his last will make him feel “very, very sad on many levels.”

“I really, really love the show, I really care about these characters and love the people,” Goldstein told TheWrap ahead of its season three debut. “You wonder if it’s a once in a lifetime thing to have such a nice group of people to spend days with. Every day you’re like, “It’s great, isn’t it, that we can all hang out and do this.” I will miss all of this.”

Brendan Hunt, co-creator of the series and plays, plays Coach Byrd. also shared a difficult balance in deciding what could be the show’s final chapter, saying, “It was very special to be in that room knowing that this would be the culmination of at least that part of the Ted Lasso story.” We took it seriously, but we tried not to take it too seriously.”

The third season of Ted Lasso is now streaming on Apple TV+ with new episodes every Wednesday until May 31st.
