Suspects taken into custody after social media threats against local high school
BELL GARDENS, California. Two suspects accused of posting violence threats at Bell Gardens High School on social media have been taken into custody and prosecuted, according to a Bell Gardens Police Department announcement released Monday.
The police department was alerted to the social media posts on Sunday. Detectives from the Department’s Special Investigations Division conducted an investigation and were able to identify the suspect who caused the threat, Sgt. This is stated in a statement by John Acosta.
Detectives noticed two adult suspects getting into the car. The suspects were stopped by detectives, who ransacked their vehicle and found two stolen pistols, body armor, high-capacity magazines and ammunition, Acosta said.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
The Bell Gardens Police Department is working with the Montebello Unified School District and law enforcement to share information.
