Some Wells Fargo customers are reporting missing deposits – here’s what we know

Some Wells Fargo customers woke up Friday morning to find that their checking accounts were missing deposits.

In a statement to NBC, the bank acknowledged that some direct deposit transactions were not showing up on accounts and that they are working on a solution. Wells Fargo said the accounts are secure.

Frustrated customers began contacting the bank on social media on Thursday night to report that recent deposits that had been listed in their account were now missing, or deposits that were expected on Friday were not there, affecting what was displayed in available balance.

In a statement to customers early Friday morning, the bank said the missing deposits were caused by an unspecified technical issue.

“If you see an incorrect balance or missing transactions, it may be due to a technical issue and we apologize. Your accounts are still safe and we are working quickly on a solution,” the bank said in a statement posted to customers on their website. Web site.

It wasn’t immediately clear how widespread the problem was or how many customers it affected.

Wells Fargo has yet to release any details about the issue or when it will be resolved.
