The US government has spent over $1 billion to clean up the radioactive dump, and Tetra Tech managers have been indicted and convicted of cleanup fraud. The company also retaliated against health and safety whistleblowers with layoffs. The Justice Department and fired whistleblowers in San Francisco are currently suing. The same company was hired by Norfolk Southern to test the air and returned with negative test results.
