Shudde Brothers Hatters have been matching hats the same way for 115 years
BROOKSHIRE, TX — According to Neil Shadde, the world is modern, but the production of hats has remained the same.
Shadde is a third-generation Hatter. His grandfather first opened Shudde Brothers Hatters in 1907 in Houston.
The business has had many high-profile clients over the years, including John Wayne and former presidents Lyndon B. Johnson, George W. Bush, and George W. Bush.
In 2007, Neil Shadde donated the business to the Brookwood community in Brookshire. All stopover proceeds benefit adults with disabilities.
Neil still works in the shop, carrying on the family legacy and trying on hats the traditional way.
