Shot during an argument on the BART train, the bullet grazed the victim

In another story that is unlikely to improve passenger traffic at BART, a man was hit by a bullet on a BART train Thursday night after another man hit him with a gun and the gun went off.

Since the pandemic, BART has been especially sketchy at night, and Thursday was no exception. According to Bay City News, the two men got into an argument on a train leaving San Francisco International Airport around 10 p.m. while the train was in the Transbay subway.

One man allegedly hit another man with a gun, and while he was doing so, his gun went off, hitting the head of the man he hit.

The situation prompted the temporary closure of the Embarcadero station and reports of police action, as well as subsequent “large” delays according to the BART system.

BART police were reportedly waiting at the Embarcadero station for the oncoming train on which the incident occurred, but were unable to locate the victim or suspect in the shooting.

The BART police were then able to extract the CCTV footage of the incident and they subsequently located the victim at 16th and Mission Streets, after which he was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The suspect remains at large.
