SAPD: More arrests in connection to Whiskey River Saloon fights where Marine was killed

There were two fights – one inside, one outside – at the bar. A US Marine was stabbed and killed outside the bar.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Four more men have been arrested in connection to fights that occurred over the weekend at San Angelo’s Whiskey River Saloon. A US Marine was killed in the bar’s parking lot and other service members from Goodfellow Air Force Base were assaulted.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, Criminal Investigations Division detectives applied for and obtained arrest warrants for:

Julian Suarez, 44, arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon, aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury

Anthony Giese, 38, arrested for aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury

Raymond Scott, 29, arrested for aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury

Ray Vera, 40, who was arrested on Oct. 2 for this incident, received an additional charge for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, in addition to a murder charge.

This remains an ongoing investigation and more information will be released if and when it becomes available.
