RSF Rotary Interact Club Shines at R. Roger Rowe School

Members of the RSF Interact Club at R. Roger Roe High School successfully completed their first semester. The six students, under the guidance of faculty advisor Stacey Halbot, have been involved in several service delivery projects, discovering leadership qualities.

8th grade students Dean Kaffka and Kiani Brown have been selected by school staff to participate in LEAD, an overnight leadership camp sponsored by Rancho Santa Fe Rotary. As the Interact Club began to take shape, Kaffka and Brown became club officers.

Club member Jake Hauenstein received the Outstanding Student Award from RSF Rotary for consistently living up to the Rotary motto of “Serving Above Self” by serving military veterans.

Interactors are collecting hygiene bags for the San Diego Youth Service.

RSF Interactors has put together youth hygiene packs at the TAY Academy Care Center, a safe place with resources for trauma survivors. They also hand-decorated holiday decorations and delivered them to the nursing home.

Focusing on peers in need, Interactors collected jackets, sweaters, school supplies, lunch boxes and water bottles, all donated to Kid’s Kingdom orphanage in Mexico.

At the end of the year students received Interact Club shirts from RSF Youth Chair Mary Murray. The T-shirt reads: “Today we will change the situation.”
