Rochester man flees police, crashes head-on into car, police say
Rochester, New York. A Rochester man fled police and crashed into a car on Friday after officers tried to stop him, the military said.
Adam C. Schafer, 29, of Rochester, was driving a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser around 11:00 p.m. on Lake Avenue when police noticed the car was missing license plates, state police said.
When the police tried to stop Schafer, he turned off his headlights and drove off, police said.
Soldiers said they found the PT cruiser shortly after it crashed into a 2012 Ford Focus. According to police, Schafer drove into oncoming traffic.
Schafer was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the military said. The driver of the Ford Focus was taken to the same hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, they said.
