River Cruise Lines Announce New Initiatives and Promotions at ASTA River Cruise Expo

Big things are happening at the American Society of Travel Consultants (ASTA) River Cruise Show.

The event took place from 15 to 18 March in Budapest this year and ASTA has just announced that Amsterdam will host the event next year from 13 to 16 March 2024.

But for now, several river cruise lines have made announcements, including:

– Amadeus River Cruises has announced a new class of river cruise ships for its fleet, the Amadeus Riva, which will be christened in May 2023.

– Amawaterways announced new flights in Colombia on the Rio Magdalena, as well as the expansion of group incentives.

– Avalon Waterways announced a special Rhine cruise with writer Graham McTavish from Basel to Amsterdam in October 2024.

Riverside Luxury Cruises took advantage of this event to introduce its brand and christen its first ship, the Riverside Mozart, naming ASTA board member Tiffany Hines (President and CEO of Global Escapes Inc.) as the ship’s godmother.

– Scenic Luxury Tours & Cruises/Emerald Cruises announced new family river cruises for summer 2023, as well as highlights of the Scenic Eclipse II and Emerald Sakara.

– Viking celebrated reaching 100 ships in its fleet and announced a raffle for over 200 free consultant cruises throughout the event.

The event was attended by over 750 travel consultants, travel service providers and cruise professionals from the United States, which also included a sold-out trade show, a panel session led by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, broadcaster and travel expert Sandra Macklemore, and President ASTA and CEO Zane Kerby.

Exhibitors can lock in provisional prices for next year’s River Cruise Expo by April 1, 2023 at www.astarivercruiseexpo.org/2024.
