Revision: Zinke Venice

How can I write a review for a restaurant that has great opening hours, great parking, and a menu so full of my favorites that there isn’t enough space to even list the dishes, let alone explain them?

That’s the problem when I consider Zinqué Venice, a French bistro that has everything I like on the menu. It’s very laid-back but often very crowded – that’s the only downside. The prices are high but reasonable, the service (partially self-catering) is friendly, and it’s a great place to meet people you know and people you just met there.

Zinque gets fantastic reviews online and the only negative that is moderate is the prices. In addition to the food, reviewers mention a full bar and wine list (and bottles of wine at the front of the store), takeaway groceries, and excellent parking at the back. A couple of people who overstayed their appointment by taking a large table out of service for a couple of hours while working at the computer had an argument with the owner. But the owner is well known in the city, especially among some of my French friends, and is always referred to as a gentleman and a friendly person.

So all I can do is tell you about some of the items on the menu that I personally like. But I only list a small percentage of what is available.

For lunch or brunch, I love smoked salmon plates and a great burger. And there are all kinds of sandwiches that you can only dream of.

Dinner is a different story; I never have favorites on the lunch menu: I love asparagus with mustard and bacon sauce, fried artichokes, Vietnamese nams, Nicoise salad, spicy wing starter, as well as traditional French fries steaks, fries modules and tartines. . And, of course, there is pizza and pasta, which are ok, but can be found in many restaurants just as good or better.

In addition to a great menu and excellent service hours, there is a section of prepared, canned and bottled meals and spices to take home.

Zinque is located at 1440 Lincoln Boulevard, halfway between Santa Monica and Marina del Rey, and is open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and from 7:00 am to 1:00 am Friday and Saturday.
