Police investigating overnight shooting outside 18th Amendment in Sioux Falls

The Sioux Falls Police Department is investigating a shooting outside a popular bar that happened early Thursday morning.

The incident was reported to police at about 1 a.m. at the 18th Amendment bar in the 1300 block of W. 41st Street, according to police spokesperson Sam Clemens.

Police found nine shell casings in the area. Three bullet holes were found on the building and another bullet struck a parked vehicle, Clemens said.

No injuries have been reported, Clemens said.

After reviewing the bar’s security footage, police determined a group of people had a discussion inside and went outside to fight. One guy pulled out a gun and started shooting, that’s when everybody fled the scene, Clemens said.

Police haven’t made an arrest related to the shooting and have yet to identify any suspects, Clemens said.
