Pinellas County MP recovers from injury

ST. SAINT PETERSBURG, Florida. A Pinellas County MP is recovering from his injury Sunday night.

According to St. Petersburg police chief Anthony Holloway, the police were called to the 60th Avenue area after a neighbor told them that the suspect was trying to rob cars.

Holloway says two police officers spotted the suspect nearby and were chasing him around the area. They were then attacked in the backyard by a man who was allegedly armed with a pistol.

According to Holloway, the suspect fired several shots at one of the deputies. Another deputy took cover on the spot and returned fire on the suspect.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is expected to survive. According to the St. Petersburg police, the suspect was killed.
