Pierce County MPs Ask for Surveillance Footage of Stabbings at University Place

MPs are asking for CCTV footage of a stabbing that took place in a home on University Place on Friday.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said police arrived at the home’s stabbing call at 2:58 a.m.

When the deputies arrived there, they found a man with stab wounds and gave him first aid by applying a tourniquet.

The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The man described the suspect to the deputies.

Detectives and forensics went to the scene and collected evidence at his house.

In the afternoon, investigators were able to identify the suspect. They completed a review of the records and determined that the suspect was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation by the Tacoma police at 6:20 am.

Deputies went to the hospital and arrested the suspect, who is now in the Pierce County Jail for assault.

MPs are still asking for any footage of the suspect in the area of ​​the wound on Friday morning. They are asking everyone in the 1900 Mountain View Avenue West area of ​​University Place to check their cameras from 2:45 to 3:45.

The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and a yellow baseball cap.
