You’ll want to take a second to see how to avoid this major problem on Houston’s roads this weekend.

HOUSTON. Houston drivers, get ready for a major road closure that is sure to give you headaches all weekend long.

Crews will close all lanes of I-45 southbound between Crosstimbers Street and Cavalcade Street for pavement repairs. The closure is expected to start at 21:00 on Friday and not open until 5:00 on Monday.

Drivers will use the 610 North Loop connectors to detour. Westbound drivers can exit at Airline Dr. and then turn around to return to I-45 south. Eastbound drivers exit Irvington Boulevard. and turn around before heading back south.

If you do not want to take a detour, drivers arriving from Highland Heights, Hawthorne Place or Greenspoint can use Hardy Toll Road or N. Shepherd as an alternate route.

TxDOT said police would be in the area to help with traffic control.

Meanwhile, for those arriving from east Houston, the I-10 westbound exit on I-69 will be closed overnight from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. The closure will be repeated every weekend night.
