Opened late last year as the food component of Oceanside’s BottleCraft branch, Shootz Fish x Beer is operated by builder-designer Chris Slowey of design firm CLTVT, professional surfer Cheyne Magnuson, and branding pro Mike Weeks. The restaurant’s seafood-focused menu is the product of Wrench & Rodent founder Chef Davin Waite, who also operates The Whet Noodle and plant-based The Plot in Oceanside. Chef Davin’s The Plot will also be bringing its plant-based, zero-waste menu to The Cottages on Roosevelt.
At the new Shootz, like the original branch, expect a menu of seafood tacos, poke bowl options and daily market specials, all made with fresh sustainable seafood. To compliment the food, there is a menu of beers brewed by Alesmith Brewery made to pair with specific dishes served at the eatery, including a Japanese lager made with rice. The Plot will have a seasonal vegan menu from Chef Davin’s wife Jessica Waite, who has been on a fully vegan diet for most of her adult life.
