North Texas counties cancel extracurricular activities due to severe weather threat

North Texas school districts have decided not to risk it as heavy rain, strong winds, severe hail and tornadoes are possible on Thursday afternoon and evening.
All eyes are on a powerful storm system moving into North Texas from the west.
The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center shows a moderate risk of severe weather from eastern Dallas County east of the Metroplex.
Many school districts in North Texas have decided to cancel extracurricular activities to ensure the safety of students.

ISD in Dallas will be closed as scheduled and buses will operate as normal, but extra-curricular and evening activities, programs and sports events have been cancelled.
Fort Worth ISD has also canceled all extracurricular activities for Thursday.
