New Caney ISD Coach Arrested for Inappropriate Relationships

The school district said Samantha Shea Cummings resigned after being placed on administrative leave.

Montgomery County, Texas. According to the documents, the New Caney ISD coach was arrested on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Samantha Shea Cummings, 35, was sent to the Montgomery County Jail early Saturday morning. Cummings is accused of inappropriate relationship between an educator and a student, which is a felony in the second degree. She is currently on $75,000 bail.

The school district said that Cummings worked with them for the first year and taught culinary arts. She also worked as a volleyball and athletics coach. New Caney ISD released the following statement about Cummings:

New Caney ISD Police issued an arrest warrant for former New Caney ISD teacher Samantha Cummings on Friday, January 13th.

“Ms. Cummings, who was charged with inappropriate teacher-student relations, resigned after being placed on administrative leave during the investigation after the school district received a report of alleged misconduct.

“Ms. Cummings was in her first year with the district and taught culinary arts and coached volleyball and track and field. Student safety is a top priority for New Caney ISD and the district will always take immediate and appropriate action to protect the safety of students. students and staff.

“The County is unable to comment further as an active investigation is ongoing.”
