Mysterious lights: possible space debris spotted over the bay

NBC Bay Area has received many calls about mysterious lights seen in the sky Friday night in parts of the Bay Area.

Lights have been seen in several cities including San Jose, Petaluma and Santa Rosa.

Meteorologist Rob Mayeda tweeted that astronomers believe it is space junk.

NBC Bay Area reached out to NASA Friday night for more information on where this space debris could be coming from.

Two weeks ago, another light show was put on in the Bay Area when a rushing meteor was seen across the sky.
