“Most Wanted” fugitive in Eastland Co. repeatedly harassed by the authorities before being arrested.

A motorcycle accident, a hospital escape and two car chases led Cisco and Abilene law enforcement to search for fugitive Daniel Aldridge over the weekend.

CISCO, Texas. Several law enforcement agencies and numerous chases in Eastland and Taylor counties over the weekend apprehended a fugitive in Eastland and Taylor counties.

On Saturday, March 4, wanted suspect Daniel Aldridge fled on a motorcycle from Cisco police in downtown Cisco. After a lengthy high speed chase, Aldridge lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a local business.

Aldridge then fled on foot, but was soon captured by Sgt. Derek Gunstenson and Officer James Thomas, assisted by Deputy Colby Jackson of the Eastland Sheriff’s Office.

Officer Thomas was taken to Eastland Hospital, where he was treated for injuries sustained during his arrest.

Aldridge was later taken to Hendrick Hospital in Abilene, where medical officials determined he was “faking his condition,” according to a Cisco Police Department press release.

Shortly thereafter, Lieutenant Lee Risdon and Chief Preston were on their way to the hospital in Abilene to take Aldridge into custody when they were informed that Aldridge had fled the facility.

Upon arrival in Abilene, it was discovered that Abilene police had arrested Aldridge after a brief chase on foot near Hardin Simmons University. Aldridge was taken back to the hospital, where he again received medical clearance for detention.

Lieutenant Risdon and Chief Preston brought Aldridge back to Eastland County and imprisoned him.

Aldridge was charged with a variety of crimes, including evading arrest using a motor vehicle, possession of controlled substances, and numerous outstanding warrants in the area.

The press release went on to say that Officer Thomas is recovering at home from his injuries and is expected to return to duty soon.
