More than 10 people have been arrested for attempting to have sex with minors

CITRUS COUNTY, Florida. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has arrested more than ten people for attempting to have sexual contact with a minor.

Operation Lucky Strike was carried out by the Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with six other agencies.

Throughout the operation, officials said they were impersonating minors on several websites.

According to the CCSO, despite being aware of the child’s age, these individuals preferred to send sexually explicit images, texts and requests of a sexually explicit nature.

The CCSO confirmed that some of the suspects drove for over an hour to meet a small child for sex but were stopped by deputies.

According to the investigation, 11 people were arrested for trying to have sex with children during the operation.

Another suspect was arrested for possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
