Matty Healy from 1975 criticized Yungblud in new video

Yungblood and Matty Healy are in the midst of a bitter feud. Following the 1975 frontman’s comments on the close-to-the-bone episode The Adam Friedland Show Yungblud was preparing for a full-blown war, calling him a “privileged white dude”. Now Healy has shared a video on Instagram in which he mocks the singer.

During Healy’s recent appearance on a podcast, the frontman started talking about queerbaiting. “Did you see Pink getting canceled for looking like a lesbian because of her career and now that’s being treated as queerbaiting?” he started. “A lot of 18 year olds say, ‘She has done irreparable damage to the lesbian community.’

Friedland proceeded to question Healy about fellow British singer Harry Styles, who is no stranger to allegations of queerbaiting. “He gets a pass,” the musician said, after which Friedland added, “Essentially, he has a pass for the letter N from the gay community.”

Healy continued, “I don’t actually think gay people really like it, it’s young girls who think it’s something new and go, ‘Oh my God.’ “Gays don’t mind someone pretending to be gay,” Friedland asked dumbfounded. “They’re just jerking off to it.”

The pair then discussed New York-based rapper Ice Spice, leading to disputes over her origins. Since then, many fans have expressed outrage at Healy and Friedland’s decision to imitate Hawaiian, Inuit and Chinese accents in an attempt to establish the rapper’s past.

After Healy’s appearance on The Adam Friedland Show, which one fan called “fucking disgusting,” Yungblud tweeted, “Love hearing three privileged white dudes sit around and objectify a young black artist who’s exploding. Welcome to your 30s, I think.”

Healy lashed out at Yungblud in a new Instagram video in which he makes fun of the singer’s Yorkshire accent. “Yeah okay guys, I’m fucking pissed,” he moans, scrawling the word emo on both cheeks. “Someone blew themselves up in the fucking Ukraine and we are not going to tolerate it because we are the fucking kids – the underrated young fucking generation and that’s what we stand for. Well, I don’t stand for things, I’m against things… There is no particular thing that I stand for. I just oppose everything, and that’s usually the most morally obvious… Bastard! Patriarchy!
