Maryland Schools Survey 2022-2023 is available.

State law requires all Maryland public schools to conduct a student climate survey. The aim of the survey is to obtain valuable information about the quality and nature of the learning environment in each school so that schools can contribute to creating a climate conducive to student learning.

The survey will ask students about topics such as student engagement, interactions with adults and other students at school, the school environment, bullying, and safety. The survey will not ask about a student’s personal experience, and students will not be asked to provide any information that might violate their privacy.

The survey is confidential and school staff will not have access to individual student responses. Your child’s answers will be combined with those of other students in the school, and results will be presented for each school and district.

Students in grades 5-11 and all faculty participate in the survey, which contributes to a STAR rating. Please visit www.gcps.net/md-survey to access the appropriate survey for your child.
