Eggstravaganza will be held at the Village Church

Eggstravaganza, a popular Easter celebration for children aged 2 to 10, returns to the Village Church on Saturday, April 1st at 9am. The meeting will feature a petting zoo, egg hunting and crafts. The highlight of the morning will be a special interactive Easter story with Village Church Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jack Baca. His annual account of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ regularly attracts hundreds of children and adults. Breakfast will be served. RSVP is required and the cost is $5 per person with children aged 2 and under admitted free.

RSF to host Passover Seder under the stars

Don’t stay at home alone this Passover! Come celebrate the holiday with friends and family in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Your Seder will include a delicious traditional three-course gourmet dinner, handmade shmura matzah, plenty of wine, and a fun introduction to the freedom feast. Canyon Crest Academy Envision Theater Presents “Rent!”

Canyon Crest Academy Envision Theater Arts presents “Rent!” The premiere will take place on March 17 at 19:00. Brooks is a criminal defense attorney, law professor, and founding director of the California Innocence Project, where he spent decades freeing innocent people from prison. He is the author of the only court collection on the topic of wrongful convictions and was portrayed by Oscar-nominated actor Greg Kinnear in the feature film Brian Banks.

Free Educational Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease

The American Alzheimer’s Foundation (AFA) will be hosting a free educational conference on Alzheimer’s and care for Southern California residents on Wednesday, April 19 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm as part of their 2023 national Educing America Tour. It will be held at the Hilton Irvine/Orange County Hotel (18800 MacArthur Blvd., Irvine). The free conference is open to everyone and will allow attendees to learn from experts in Alzheimer’s, brain health and nursing. Parkinson’s Association of San Diego to Host 21st Annual ‘Step by Step 5K Walk’

The Parkinson’s Association of San Diego (PASD) is hosting its 21st annual “Step by Step 5K Walk” on Saturday, April 1 at Liberty Station. The event will be hosted by CBS News 8 host Carlo Cecchetto.

Proceeds from the action enable PASD to continue to provide critical resources to thousands of San Diego County residents with or suffering from Parkinson’s disease. All funds raised at the event remain in San Diego County.

The walk starts at 9 am, check-in starts at 7:30 am. The donation is $50, youth ages 12-17 are $10, and kids under 12 are free. Donations are tax deductible under IRS rules and include a Walk Step by Step T-shirt. The exhibition area will feature more than 50 medical and other resources. The walk is suitable for dogs.

“Beyond King Tut: An Exciting Experience” Extends Stay at Del Mar Fairgrounds

Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience, a new exhibition developed in collaboration with the National Geographic Society, has extended its run at the Wyland Center at the Del Mar Fairgrounds by another six weeks, by popular demand, through May 7th.

Civic Youth Orchestra to present two upcoming events

In March, the Civic Youth Orchestra (CYO) will host two major events. CYO’s spring showcase concert will take place on Sunday, March 19 at the California Arts Center in Escondido, featuring all of its ensembles. On Tuesday, March 28, the California Arts Center, Escondido Concert Hall will host the CYO High School Orchestra Invitation Festival, featuring five school orchestras and the CYO Symphony Orchestra.

The non-profit San Diego Florists Association is hosting the Power of One Flower photo contest for both amateurs and professionals. The winning photo will feature on the cover of California Garden magazine from San Diego Floral in the July/August 2023 issue. The deadline for applications is 31 March. Operation HOPE-Northern District Golf Tournament Fundraiser

Operation HOPE-North County will host its first annual Swing into HOPE golf tournament, celebrating 20 years of community service providing a safe haven for families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.
