Man found unconscious on NYC subway tracks; operator of Manhattan uptown No. 1 train couldn’t stop in time

An unconscious man was found on the tracks of a Manhattan subway station, police said Friday.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the unidentified man was struck by the train or if he was already unconscious when the operator of a northbound No. 1 train spotted him around 10 p.m. Thursday in the station at W. 103rd St. and Broadway on the Upper West Side.

The motorman was unable to stop the train in time, police said.
