Man charged with murder in crash that killed child on Northern Highway, court documents say

A one-year-old child died and several others were seriously injured in the rollover accident, according to police.

HOUSTON. A 33-year-old man who was released on bail for injuring a child is now charged with murder in a rollover accident that killed one child and severely injured another. Houston Police Department.

Dedrian Aundra Baker, 33, is charged with one count of murder and two counts of assault while intoxicated in connection with a fatal highway accident, according to court documents. northern highway Sunday night.

Police said Baker was driving a Honda Accord at the time of the fatal rollover accident.

According to court documents, Baker was already on bail for a child injury related to the Feb. 7 incident.

As part of the terms of the bail on the charge, Baker was not allowed to consume, possess or consume alcohol, controlled substances, dangerous drugs or marijuana, court documents say.

Baker remains in the Harris County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court this morning.

Houston police said a black Honda Accord was heading south on the Northern Freeway when the driver lost control and crashed into the median, flipping several times.

It happened just after 10:30 pm, heading south near North Shepherd.

According to police, two children and one adult were thrown out of the car. They were all taken to the hospital along with two other children.

A one-year-old child has died and several others are in critical condition.

None of the children were wearing seat belts, police said, and they found an unused car seat in the trunk of the car.
