The Los Angeles Zoo announced Monday that it will offer free admission to Los Angeles Unified School District students in grades K-12 in the event of school closures due to an expected three-day strike beginning Tuesday.

Free admission will be offered to all currently enrolled LAUSD students in grades K-12, along with a $5 per chaperone fee.

Students will be required to show proof of enrollment by presenting school ID, report card, school newsletter or other similar proof of enrollment, the zoo said.

Free enrollment will only be offered on days when LAUSD schools are affected by an upcoming closure, Tuesday through Thursday. The zoo said tickets must be purchased in person at the Los Angeles Zoo’s box office, and this discount is time-limited and not available online.
