Kid ‘n Play to perform at New Year’s Eve ‘House Party’ in Central New York

Want to kick off 2023 with the Kid ‘n Play kick step in Central New York?

Kid ‘n Play, the rap duo consisting of Christopher “Kid” Reid and Christopher “Play” Martin, will perform at “A New Year’s Eve House Party” on Saturday, Dec. 31, at Sharkey’s Event Center in Liverpool, N.Y. Special guests Trapdeville and Shayla Gessler will also perform at the event, which runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Tickets are on sale at syracusetix.com. General admission early bird tickets are $25, VIP passes are $50, and meet & greet packages are available for $105 and $125.

General admission prices increase to $30 after Dec. 10 and any remaining day-of tickets will be $35 for general admission or $60 for VIP.

All attendees must be 21 and over to attend.

Kid ‘n Play rose to fame with late ‘80s and early ‘90s hip-hop hits like “Do This My Way,” “Gittin’ Funky,” “Rollin’ with Kid ‘n Play,” “2 Hype,” “Funhouse,” and “Ain’t Gonna Hurt Nobody.” The pair is also known for their trademark dance, the Kid ‘n Play Kickstep, and for acting in movies like “House Party” and “Class Act.”

The New Year’s Eve concert will include a cash price for the best ‘90s “House Party” attire, according to an event flyer.

A reboot of “House Party,” produced by LeBron James, will be released in theaters Jan. 23. A trailer shows Reid and Martin will at least make a cameo in the new movie.

Sharkey’s Bar and Grill is located at 7240 Oswego Rd in Liverpool, N.Y. Other upcoming shows at Sharkey’s Event Center include rapper Jadakiss on Dec. 3, Dangerous Type on Dec. 16, and an Emo Christmas Party with Name Brand Covers on Dec. 23.
