Judge says San Francisco house bombing suspect to be released from prison under strict house arrest

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — A man accused of a deadly San Francisco home bombing that killed his wife may be released from prison under a strict house arrest order.

Darron Price, 53, appeared in court on Friday, where the judge said he did not act with malice or intent to harm others, but was simply negligent.

His indictment has been delayed until next week as he faces charges of manslaughter, drug production and endangering children. and he was charged with manslaughter, drug production and endangering children.

The judge says Price did not act with malice or intent to harm others, but was simply negligent.

Because the explosion destroyed his home, Price will be held in a Sheriff’s Department-approved home with strict restrictions. He has 15 days to find a house approved by the department.

Rita Price, 51, died in the explosion and her caregiver was critically injured.

Price used “a volatile solvent to chemically extract concentrated cannabis,” according to court documents.

He has two children, aged 14 and 17, who were at school when the explosion happened.

He also has a criminal record in San Francisco and was convicted of burglary in October 1993.

Neighbors told ABC7 News that things have changed since the explosion and say they are dismayed to learn that investigators have found containers of butane and other items that could have been used to make hash oil.
