MORE INFORMATION:

The California Campaign for the Poor and national partners are hosting a nationwide online event for International Women’s Day to celebrate women’s struggles and contributions.
to the economy, communities and movements.

The theme of the event “Ending Women’s Poverty: Investing in Care, Not Killing” will focus on women’s poverty and its impact on our families and society as a whole, as well as the impact on women and children of all pillars of the CPT. Women’s unpaid care work alone contributes $1.5 trillion to the US economy, but in the US, women and children make up 70 percent of the nation’s poor.

You will hear from women affected by racism, poverty, environmental devastation, militarism.
and a twisted moral narrative that blames women for our poverty.

Organized by: CA Poor People’s Campaign and PPC National

The current co-founders are Women’s Global Strike, National Welfare Rights Alliance,
Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom and Code Pink, and we’re reaching out to other national partners that focus on women’s issues.
