Interagency operation leads to the arrest of nine cybercriminals in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, Texas. The Abilene Police Department’s Cybercrime Investigation Unit assisted the Department of Homeland Security in San Angelo in arresting nine individuals from various locations for crimes against children.

The interagency operation, which involved the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the US Air Force and other local law enforcement agencies, targeted suspects who attempted to have sex with minors in the San Angelo area.

According to an APD press release, a two-day operation is a type of operation in which Abilene’s cybercrime unit assists on a regular basis. These operations aim to bring individuals to justice who target the most vulnerable through the Internet and social media applications.
