Huge drug bust in Tarrant County, $16M worth of meth seized, report

Fort Worth, TX – Several police agencies were involved in the recent drug bust when an estimated $16 million in methamphetamine was seized, authorities say.

According to the Tarrant County sheriff, the investigation about the case has been underway for more than two months. The investigation was conducted by several local, state and federal agencies.

The police confirmed that nearly 1,500 pounds of drugs were seized. The meth is currently the most dangerous street drug in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

“The DEA Fort Worth and all of our partners here today stand in unison to be able to take that street level drug transaction all the way up to seizers like this, all the way up into international drug trafficking investigations we’ll hold these criminal organizations accountable. Our lives depend on it. Our family and friends live depend on it, and our community deserves it,” said Eduardo Chavez, a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The police didn’t reveal if anyone was arrested in the case, but confirmed that the investigation about the case continues in the upcoming period.
