HPD: Man escapes fiery crash after being shot in southeast Houston

Houston police said the man’s car caught fire after the accident. Luckily, he managed to escape.

HOUSTON. On Wednesday, a man was seriously injured after police said he was hit, lost control of his car and then crashed into a train, where his car caught fire.

According to Houston Police Lieutenant Larry Crowson, the man was shot and killed while in his car on Mikawa Road near Selinsky. Why the shooting happened is unknown.

After being shot at, Crowson said he lost control of his car, flew over a ditch and crashed into a moving train. The car caught fire after the accident. Luckily, he managed to escape,” the police said.

According to Crowson, a driver passing by the scene noticed the incident and put the man in his car, where he drove him to Telean Street near Almeda Genoa, and then called 911.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery. Crowson said he is expected to survive.

This investigation is ongoing.
