HPD: Man charged after off-road motorcycle teen killed in alleged road rage incident in Southwest Houston

Alfred E. Woods, 42, was charged with two counts of refusing to stop and provide assistance. This is an ongoing investigation.

HOUSTON. On Wednesday, a man was arrested after police said he chased two teenagers on an off-road motorcycle, hit them, and then drove away.

One of these teenagers, aged 16, died from his injuries.

The incident took place Tuesday on the airport boulevard near Almeda Road.

Investigators initially said the teenagers, another only 18 years old, may have been involved in some sort of traffic incident and were being chased by someone in a dark-colored SUV. The SUV then crashed into the bike and at least one of the teenagers before driving away, police said.

Both teenagers were taken to a nearby hospital, where the 16-year-old died. As of Friday, the 18-year-old remained in the hospital in critical condition, but police said his condition was stable.
